Education & Skill Development
We support access to quality education for girls, from primary school to higher learning. In addition, we offer training programs that equip women with marketable skills and provide access to essential financial information and resources to build their future.
Our support projects in the areas of education and skill development vary - some are one-time projects while others are ongoing. We assess overall student body needs, and particularly factor acute impacts on female student populations. What barriers can we help lift that will aid in girls attending school and staying enrolled?
Projects range from helping with urgently-needed, one-time school infrastructure needs like rebuilding toilets (a primary reason why girls in particular may not attend school), to longer term investments in teacher and student English language training that will help give students an edge in pursuing their goals, and will allow teachers to earn more wages.
We also partner with women in the communities to uncover how we can support their goals through skill development. This may look like sewing workshops and access to sewing machines, English language learning, trade skill development, financial literacy, and more. These community- and family-based support networks we are building enable not just the women alone, but their children, entire families, and beyond.
